It was an accident

So I had this pendant with no bail, and was worried that I might chip, scratch or break the glass while trying to form one, at the same trying to avoid making a bulk of metal at my focal point that would clash with the piece.

Looping a single strand for a bail, because this one is drilled in the front, makes the teardrop turn sideways. So that is how I ended up doubling a strand on each side and got an effect that is unique from all my other stuff. Yay! Plus it can be worn straight or twisted:

Wow! Poppy Festival

I found out Friday night that I had  a chance to vend for $25 at the Annual Poppy Festival in Lancaster, CA.  It was exhausting and fun and chaotic. Many pieces are gone: the Green Celtic Knot, Pink Teardrop, and Light Mauve Double Strand are all sold for starters. Now I am so exhausted all over but can't sleep so I'm having some Southern Comfort and soda. I'm sitting on a lot of great pendants and component so the countdown to one hundred item does not seem far away. I just need to get some rest...

Feelin Lacy

Ahhh, now that looks nice. Steel Blue, kind of navy with a little metal to it, such a lovely stormy color.
Remember how I was saying I wanted to make a necklace with a lacy look? Well I did it (photo)
I put a different shape of Hemalyke (TM) bead on each strand, as well as a different pattern. It would not have worked as a twist-style at all, and the varying shapes and sizes gave me exactly the 'lace' I was looking for. Satiny Druk beads combined with Czech fire polished crystal glass made a stunning, sparkling piece.

Here she is...

It was tempting to make this into a double-strand layer necklace instead of triple-twist; the bi-cones and rounds would have given it a  really lacy look, so that's another idea for later. This plan has been waiting in the wings for a while, and my gallery had had almost no red in it, so I really love this one.
On another note, mom's house is all painted up now, so at least that work is all done! This Friday I will be vending at a Luau, so I need lot's of energy, luck, and extra B-complex to keep the carpal tunnel from acting up.

Update: Later, same day-Here's the green one! Got 'er done.

What's The Plan?

Today I have the formula laid out on my tray for a deep red triple-strand necklace, and it shows beautiful promise. Cued in my head is a dark green triple strand next. Well I've got high hopes, considering I am about to go paint my mom's bedroom first, and that will take most of the day. Wish me luck, super powers, and a nice hat to keep the paint out of my hair.

Yay! Profesionale!

My friend Tyler is a great photographer. He's got a great artistic eye, and he has graced my jewelry with his skills and fantastic camera. Here are a few.
These highlight the details wonderfully, but it's nothing compared to his real work, here:

Hello, my name is Purple

Hello, my name is Purple, and I come from a family of fickle barstids. We are known for being very difficult to work with. You see, our family has two general sides: the reddish side and the bluish side. The problem is, no one can ever make up their mind which side of the family they want to be on! Worst yet, we use each others looks to make ourselves look different, standing next to each other in photos and demanding that others leave the picture because they don't fit with us there. Now the Blue and Pink families do this too, but we're professionals at it.
We all want to be royal.

Outside the Box-in action

Woohoo! Style evolution! (for me) It's fun doing something different and I think I'm getting addicted...

New kinds of patterns means new parameters and strategy. And tons more size #11 and #15 seed beads! (the tiniest). Waiting on a 5lb box of those to come friday so I can get my bead on =) You can never have too many space saver jars. I think I might have to stalk some moms with baby-food age kids and beg for the empty jars.
